O2 this week partnered with AT&T to sell the U.S. telco's Digital Life smart home platform in the U.K. this summer.
The mobile operator has also partnered with German smart thermostat maker Tado to add the company's products to O2's smart home portfolio.
"At O2 we are building an ecosystem that will deliver a complete smart home experience," said David Plumb, digital director at O2, in a statement on Tuesday. "By teaming up with the very best device, platform and service providers, we will be able to give people the smartest tech for their homes."

AT&T Digital Life enables customers to monitor and control various smart home appliances, including intruder alarms, security cameras, smoke detectors, door locks, lights, and electrical sockets, among others, through a single portal.
Through O2, the U.K. will become the first European market to get access to Digital Life. As well as selling Digital Life, O2 will also provide technical support to U.K. Digital Life customers.
Monday's announcement comes after Telefonica agreed to trial Digital Life in September 2014.
"O2's interest after our trial with Telefonica shows that Digital Life's platform is a great fit for European markets such as the U.K.," said Kevin Peterson, president of AT&T Digital Life.
"By adding OEMs such as Tado to the ecosystem, O2's customers will have even more choice in managing their connected home experience," he said.
