iPhone 7: What to expect from Apple's next device

It won't be released for at least another seven months, but already there are several leaked reports about the iPhone 7.

Apple is due to release the new version of its flagship phone later this year, with version 7 expected to follow the 6S.

Here are the specifications being talked about so far:
  • a camera lens that doesn't stick out like the iPhone 6 and 6S range
  • a dual-rear lens camera for the iPhone 7 Plus
  • no antenna bands across the rear
  • no 3.5mm headphone jack
  • an increase in the body-to-screen ratio
  • a thinner design
  • next generation A10 processors
The removal the antenna bands and making the camera flush will please design nerds but these changes are irrelevant for most people as the keep their iPhone in a case.

Being forced to use Bluetooth or the lightning port to connect headphones will disappoint a lot of people.

Apple tends to do a full redesign every second year, so the iPhone 7 range will probably look different with many expecting less space above and below the screen.

It also usually gives its Plus range better photographic capabilities and Sony, which supplies lenses to Apple, is expecting an increase in demand for its dual-lens technology.

No doubt more leaks will appear over the next few months until the iPhone 7 is unveiled in September.
