Apple is expected to start rolling out the latest version of its operating system, iOS 9.3, next week. Here's what you can expect from the update.
Apple is hosting an event on March 21st where it’s expected to release iOS 9.3, as well as details about the iPhone 5SE and a new iPad. After a stint in beta, here’s what you can expect to see added and updated with the release of iOS 9.3. This is Apple’s first major update in a while. It adds new functionality and features, which could prove very useful.
One of the standout new additions is Night Shift. This may help you sleep better if you use devices late at night, as the traditional bright blue light can mess with your body and make it more difficult to drift off to sleep. Night Shift alters the colour of the display based on the time of sunset in your location before returning to normal in the morning.
It’s a useful update for those who use iPads in the classroom too. There’s a new classroom app and multi-student login functionality. So now you can pass an iPad around a class and let students save work to their own individual profiles.
There are some minor changes too; Notes now feature Touch ID security, and the Apple News and Apple Health apps have been redesigned slightly. Apple News will display news more relevant to your interests, suggests topics and Editor's Picks, and refreshes the latest stories quicker when you check for new updates. Health, meanwhile, helps you discover third-party apps, and links up better with the Apple Watch.
Expect to see iOS 9.3 start rolling out next week.
