iPad Pro: Apple claims its 9.7-inch tablet is the 'ultimate PC replacement'

Tech giant urges the public to keep taking its tablets with a new gadget that's designed to woo people away from boring old computers






Apple has unveiled its new Apple iPad Pro which is a smaller version of its tea-tray-sized mega tablet.

At its keynote event today, the tech giant revealed the advanced technology which powers the new device.

It has a 9.7-inch screen which is fitted with a "true tone display". This means the on-screen display changes its colour depending on the ambient light.

The smaller iPad Pro will also allow users to draw using the Apple Pencil.

"It is the ultimate PC replacement," Apple said.

The new iPad Pro also features four speakers, a super advanced camera and a powerful A9X processor.

It will come in silver, gold, space grey and rose gold.

Apple also used the event to unveil its new smaller,cheaper iPhone, the iPhone SE, and new Apple Watch accessories, as well as announcing the release of iOS 9.3.
