New leak claims iPhone 7 could have headphone jack

The upcoming iPhone has been the source of controversy over the removal of the headphone jack but that may not be the case

Rumours have been circulating that the upcoming iPhone 7 could drop its regular headphone jack in favour of a proprietary connector. This was partly in order to make the handset as slim as possible, and also potentially to sell more headphones with the new connector.

Now a leaked photo which might show the chassis for the new iPhone has emerged, and it has a host of new information. Chiefly it clearly shows a regular round port for a 3.5 mm headphone jack, suggesting that Apple won't be taking the port away just yet - maybe in response to the negtive attention the earlier leak received. It has also been said that this body could house a 5.2 inch screen which would be a new display size for Apple, between the existing 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch models.

French site NWE originally posted the image which comes from a tipster working at a factory in China. It turns out that the location produces hardware for Apple and Huawei and there's a chance that the chassis in question belongs to the Huawei P9 or it could indeed be an early version of the iPhone 7, which isn't set to be announced until September 2016.
