WhatApp has received an update adding a much requested feature allowing users to attach and send documents to eachother
WhatApp has finally unlocked the ability to send documents to other users online.
The new feature is available after the latest update, allowing users to attach and send PDFs. That's a pretty unusual file format to start with, but one that's locked and relatively secure, so we would expect more options in the future. The attachment list now includes Documents, Camera (combining video and pictures from before), Gallery, Audio, Location and Contact. That's a comprehensive suite of settings for WhatsApp users.
The updated version of the app on Android and iOS also includes over 100 new emoji and the very welcome addition of Google Drive backup for your chats and media - migrating a WhatApp account can be surprisingly difficult so hopefully this will help to improve matters. There are additional new features on iOS, including the ability to see whether your message has been delivered and read right from the main chat window.
So go update your app now and enjoy the new features.
