FBI method for hacking iPhones bound to leak

Apple and the FBI have been involved in a struggle over unlocking an older model iPhone and the way it happened will be revealed eventually

iPhone

The FBI has recently been pursuing Apple to unlock an iPhone 5c which was used by one of the men involved with the San Bernardino attack, where 14 people were killed during a mass shooting in December 2015.

The plea was eventually dropped when the FBI claims that another party became involved with knowledge of the iPhone's systems who could bypass the security. The idea that a phone with a password can be hacked in that way has left a lot of people uncomfortable, not only Apple but also their millions of users worldwide, as the FBI is being approached to help other agencies with similar problems.

Now, the general consensus is that the method is bound to leak out sooner or later and when it does that will give Apple a chance to fix this security flaw. At that time, it's likely the company will release a public statement confirming the issue has been fixed, and that could lead to reopening hostilities with the FBI. It's a complicated matter, with the personal security of millions of smartphone users on one side and an investigation into an act of terror on the other. One thing is certain, you're going to be hearing more about this issue in the future.
